Brozovic and De Vrij had calf problems in the Liverpool game so they had to leave the pitch. According to the test results, both of them will recover soon as neither of them had any serious injury. De Vrij had to leave at halftime while Brozovic left the field later on in the second half. Inter have some time before their next match but Inzaghi will think twice before playing a player who is in the recovery stage. Since Inter are now out of the Champions League, they can focus more on Serie A.
De Vrij will most likely miss the game against Torino on Sunday as he will take time to recover. Inter have enough options to replace him as D’Ambrosio took his place in the Liverpool game and Skriniar came to the center of the back three. Inzaghi can also start Ranocchia at the center of the defense or he could bring Dimarco in and push Bastoni in the middle.
Brozovic and De Vrij suffer from calf problems
It will be tough to replace Marcelo Brozovic as Inter do not have the right backup option for him. They suffered a 2-0 defeat against Sassuolo when he was not available. The Neroverdi were able to create chances in transition as Inter could not stop their attacks. The Nerazzurri can use Vidal as he can sense danger and he has the work rate to go up and down. Inzaghi can also use Gagliardini or Vecino and Barella can stay back and work as a deep-lying playmaker. Also, according to test results, Brozovic has some muscle fatigue so he could recover in time.
Inzaghi will have to win the game on the weekend to keep the pressure on Milan and Napoli. Inter can still get ahead as they have a game in hand.
