Inter defender Milan Skriniar provides future update

Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar has said that he would like to stay at Inter. Spurs’ manager, Antonio Conte was keen to sign the Slovakian defender in the January transfer window. But the 27-year old wants to stay with Inter and challenge for various trophies. His contract will expire in 2023, but he feels that Inter will soon propose a new contract to him before that.

Conte is now at Spurs, and he wants to reunite with Skriniar as he knows his potential. The Italian tactician trusted Skriniar at Inter as he was rock solid in defense. It helped Inter in their Scudetto triumph after more than a decade. The 27-year old became one of the best right-sided center back under Conte. Hence, the Italian manager wants to improve the defense of his new team by bringing the Slovakian defender in the summer transfer window.

Skriniar has been a consistent performer for Inter since joining from Sampdoria and has made Inter’s back three formidable. De Vrij has struggled this season, but Skriniar has kept his form from the last season. Skriniar stops the opponent’s wingers with his physicality and smart positioning. He is quick on his feet as well, so he can catch up if a player gets past him. The 27-year old has good pressing and interception stats as he comes forward to take the ball away.

Inter Milan will soon like to give him a new contract as he is irreplaceable in the back three. Other clubs like Real Madrid are also monitoring his situation at Inter. The Nerazzurri will be looking to propose a new contract for him as they recently gave one to Brozovic. They could also sign another defender in the summer to improve their back three as they have struggled in recent games.
