Inter extend Darmian’s contract till 2024

Inter Milan decided to extend Matteo Darmian’s contract, as the Italian defender has been a valuable asset to the team. The Nerazzurri did not doubt giving the former Manchester United defender a new contract, as he is still a key player for Inzaghi. Darmian joined Inter from Parma in the summer of 2020 under Conte. He was not an ambitious signing, as Inter were looking for a versatile player who could cover multiple positions in defense.
Matteo Darmian was a regular in Antonio Conte’s Inter, as the Italian manager used him on both flanks. Darmian covered for both Perisic and Hakimi and served as a rotation option. He helped Inter to win the Scudetto in his first season at the club, as the Nerazzurri won after more than a decade. The Italian defender was consistent with his performances and made several contributions in both attack and defense. He scored crucial goals in the games against Hellas Verona and Cagliari, which helped Inter in the Scudetto race.

Inter extend Darmian’s contract with an option for another year

Darmian will earn €2.5 million net per season with his new contract. It has the option to extend for one more year. He is still a key player in Inzaghi’s setup as he competes with Dumfries on the right flank. Moreover, Inzaghi has used him at the right side of the back three in Skriniar’s absence. Since the departure of Hakimi, Darmian got more chances in the starting eleven. Since Dumfries was settling into Serie A in his first season.
