Inter eye Emerson as Chelsea wants to sell him in summer. Inter also showed interest in Emerson in January. However, Chelsea’s price tag over the Brazilian restricted his move away. Further, Emerson played for Brazil, which is his native country. However, he decided to play for Italy after getting Italian citizenship in 2017. The 26-year old was a part of the youth setup at Santos. In 2014, he was loaned out to Paleroma with a buyout clause. He played nine league matches for the club in total.

In 2015, Emerson joined the fellow team on loan for one year. However, like Palermo, he remained a second choice behind Lucas Digne. His loan was extended for another season. In December 2016, after he completed 12 matches for the club, they brought him for €2 million. He missed most of the 2017-18 season due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury. In January 2018, he joined Chelsea for an undisclosed fee on a four-and-a-half-year loan. The Brazilian has been a standout performer for Chelsea.

Emerson has faced several injuries in his career with Chelsea. As soon as he recovered from his injuries, he has mostly been out of favor for Thomas Tuchel. However, Chelsea head coach, Tuchel has praised Emerson. The Brazilian has mostly been on the bench for Chelsea. But Emerson has praised his mentality and his dedication during the training.

Thus, with the €17 million price tag, Inter and Napoli have shown interest in the midfielder for the summer. While Inter were ready to sign the left-back in January, the last-minute deal couldn’t go through. On top of that, Inter were struggling with finances at the time. Thus, Conte decided to work with the existing players. That turned out well as Eriksen got the deserving chance and he portrayed a strong character on the field. Inter are on the top of the Serie A table at the moment.
