Inter Milan lose to RC Lens after a late goal from Openda. Inzaghi decided to start with a different formation and kept Lautaro and Lukaku on the bench. The Italian tactician had his usual midfield three, and Darmian filled in for Skriniar at the back. Lazaro started on the left flank as Gosens is suffering from his injury.

Lens had a good start to the match as Fofana had a chance to open the scoring, but his shot went wide. Inter were not pressing enough, and Lens had a decent amount of possession. Dzeko and Correa started the game and did not create enough chances.

In the 32nd minute, Florian Sotoca produced a curling shot, but Handanovic was able to keep it away. Inter had a chance before the end of the first half as Correa and Calhanoglu linked up to set Dzeko free on the break. However, the Bosnian striker could not generate enough power with that angle.

Inter had a much better second half and created many chances, but were unable to finish them. Dzeko had a chance to score from the corner, but his header was saved comfortably by Samba. Despite being a friendly match, there were several bookings in the game. Inzaghi decided to bring the lethal duo of Lukaku and Lautaro after the hour mark.

The Belgian looked sharp and fit after coming on. He took on Danso on the right flank and got past him with a burst of pace. Lukaku gave a brilliant cut-back to Lautaro, but the Argentine fired his shot over the bar. Lukaku had a great chance as well, but Lazaro’s pass went straight past him.

Lautaro had another chance as Barella made a pass between the defenders to find him. However, the keeper came forward to save Lautaro’s shot. The Nerazzurri conceded a goal in the 90th minute following a corner. Asllani lost his marker in the near post, and he made a pass to the back of the post. Openda made a run at the far post to score the winner.
