Inter target Marash Kumbulla has attracted interest from North London reports TGR Football. The Hellas Verona defender agreed on terms with Inter a long time ago. But the Nerazzurri rested interest in him to pursue cheaper options. The 20-year-old is valued at €25M by Transfermarkt. But Hellas Verona can easily fetch more than €30M for him.
Tottenham want Kumbulla to replace club legend Jan Vertonghen. The club first considered Milan Skriniar as an apt replacement. Tottenham and Inter even discussed a swap for Tanguy Ndombele involving Skriniar. But it looks like the clubs have moved on to other alternatives. As Inter are close to signing Arturo Vidal for the role.
Inter have already lost their pursuit of Sandro Tonali. The club was reportedly after N’Golo Kante but now reports suggest that isn’t the case. Tonali ending up at Milan is a bitter truth for the Nerazzurri for the summer. If the Nerazzurri also miss out on Kumbulla it won’t go down well with the fans.
Marash Kumbulla will be a quick and sturdy replacement to the struggling Milan Skriniar. Skriniar, on the other hand, wants to stay at the club.
The Hellas Verona defender is quick which is something the Nerazzurri want in their backline. Conte’s three at the back system has often left Skriniar and others scrambling to get a hold of the attackers. Signing Marash Kumbulla can change that to some extent.
Inter Target Marash Kumbulla is not easy to sign
Firstly, the defender will cost Inter a good €30M. If Inter had that kind of money right now, they would’ve already signed him. The club is in a hangover from last seasons spending. Secondly, the Nerazzurri club is not sure about who should stay. Conte and his management want Milan Skriniar to adapt to the system. Also, they don’t want to ignore how good Godin has been lately. In the same breath, Godin is paid more and is not quick enough. Skriniar, on the other hand, is just 25 and might adapt well.
If Inter target Marash Kumbulla joins Tottenham or any other club for that matter, Conte will have to scramble for alternatives. Kumbulla is not the experienced starlet Inter might want right now. But, he has the potential to fit into Conte’s system well.
