Inter to continue with Perisic next season

Inter to continue with Ivan Perisic at left wing-back next season. He looks set to remain a key part of Conte’s Inter heading into next season. As reported by Calcio Mercato. So Inter are looking to keep faith with the Croatian after his impressive transformation into a complete left wing-back. Perisic is under contract with the Nerazzurri until the summer of 2022 with an annual salary of €5 million.

The 32-year-old has become ‘a universal player’ after his treble-winning loan spell at Bayern Munich. He was playing as a false nine for 70 minutes for Croatia in last night’s 1-0 defeat in Slovenia.

Inter to continue with Perisic

Inter to continue with Perisic, and offload some players from that position

Perisic’s dribbling has gone from strength to strength this season. When taking on a player his goal is to get behind them and make a cross. With both his dribbling and crossing ability, Perisic is a huge threat with the ball on the left flank. His trademark is to run at a defender, take them on with a stepover, before taking the ball to the line and pulling the ball back for the centre forwards. Perisic willingly cuts inside, and although he is left-footed, his right foot is just as good. He often cuts inside when he is close enough for a shooting opportunity, in order to improve the angle.

Inter are planning on keeping Perisic for the 2021-22 campaign. But, they also have plans to offload three of their other options in the left wing-back spot. Kolarov and Ashley Young are both out of contract in June and are looking to leave. Since neither have convinced Inter that they would be worth an extension.

Dalbert is also due to move somewhere else. Since Inter do not intend to keep the Brazilian when he returns from his unsuccessful 1 season loan with Rennes in Ligue 1. Real Valladolid have Inter’s legendary former striker Ronaldo as their president. They were linked with the 27-year-old in January and could revive their interest in the summer.
