Last chance for Christian Eriksen in the Derby

Last chance for Christian Eriksen in the Derby

Last chance for Christian Eriksen as there is a very high possibility that he starts in the Derby della Madonnina. The almost out of favour midfielder is among the favourites to start the Derby as Inter overcome a Coronavirus crisis. With a number of key players down due to the virus, it’s upon Eriksen to step up. Subsequently, the Danish midfielder famous for his exploits in the midfield has failed to fire in Milan.

His arrival was hit by a difficult deal in which Spurs didn’t want to let him go, followed by the Coronavirus crisis just after his arrival. The midfielder spent time in the training centre of the club as he did not get the chance to find a place to live. Moreover, Eriksen is not having the best time of his life at Inter. He is out of favour and can rarely expect to start any games. Then there’s the plenty of midfield options that Conte has to replace him. Inter have by far the best bench in the Serie A this season. And this is hurting Eriksen’s chances to find his form massively.

Last chance for Christian Eriksen

Thankfully for the player and the club, Eriksen is performing well with the Danish team. Once the midfielder is back in Milan, he should be able to carry forward his form in the Derby della Madonnina.

Last chance for Christian Eriksen

Derby della Madonnina will effectively be the last chance for Christian Eriksen to prove his worth. The Danish midfielder has publically stated that he won’t be willing to warm the bench. But neither is he performing well for Inter nor has he adapted well to the system. Thus, Conte will start Eriksen out of desperation but once the players recover and the manager has options, Eriksen won’t be among the frontrunners to start. The Nerazzurri will be looking to impose stricter protocols to avoid any such situation in the future. So if Christian Eriksen fails to perform in the biggest game in the Italian football season, then he’ll probably be leaving in January.
