Marotta is against Lukaku’s sale to Chelsea

Inter Milan’s CEO Beppe Marotta is against Romelu Lukaku’s sale to Chelsea. The Zhang family are forcing the Nerazzurri board to sell Lukaku to Chelsea as the Blues are offering a huge amount. Simeone Inzaghi has told previously that he wants to keep Lukaku at all costs. The Belgian is integral to the Nerazzurri’s system. The whole team looks up to him as he acts as a focal point and when the defenders are under pressure they try to aim their long ball towards him as Lukaku is excellent in the air. Inter Milan have rejected Chelsea’s first offer of €100 million and Marcos Alonso. But, the Blues are going to offer a bid of around €130 million which the Suning are looking to accept.

The Belgian is convinced to return to Chelsea after his talk with Thomas Tuchel. The Blues won the UEFA Champions League last season and are looking to bolster their forward line by bringing in Lukaku. The Belgian is aware of Chelsea’s success and wants to play under Tuchel. Inter Milan have to end this summer’s transfer window with a profit of €80 million. They have received €71 million with the sale of Achraf Hakimi to Paris Saint Germain. Also, the Nerazzurri have to reduce their wage bill by 20%. So the Inter owners Suning, are forcing the Nerazzurri board as they do not see much improvement in the plan to deduct costs.
