Martinez is Nerazzurri’s future, says Ex-Inter defender

Martinez is Nerazzurri’s future, says ex-Inter defender Nicolas Burdisso. The 40-year old is currently the sporting director of the Argentine Primavera Division club Boca Juniors. In fact, he began his career with Boca Juniors. Further, he joined Inter back in 2004, signing a four-year contract. Although he missed the whole 2004-05 season due to his daughter’s illness. In the 2006-07 season, he was named the top scorer at Coppa Italia with four other players. Finally, he left the club in 2009, having made 139 appearances, scoring 8 goals and 9 trophies in total.

The 40-year old has praised Martinez and Conte as he thinks they can begin the winning cycle for the Nerazzurri. El Toro has scored 15 goals so far in this season. Lautaro began his career in football with the youth setup of the Racing Club. He scored 53 goals in 64 appearances in the beginning. In fact, a deal was finalized between the Racing club and Real Madrid as they wanted to sign Martinez. However, he decided to stay back in Argentina.

Martinez is Nerazzurri’s future, but will Inter have to sacrifice him in the next season?

Ever since Martinez has joined Inter, he has been unstoppable. He joined Inter in 2018 on a reported fee of €22.7 million on a five-year contract. At one point, he asked for quadruple wages as he quickly became an important part of Conte’s Inter. However, this year, he agreed for a double fee during contract renewal. However, Inter will have to let go of one of their important players next season in order to cover the costs. And, Martinez might be the one that the Nerazzurri sacrifice.

Lautaro has played a huge role in Inter’s success so far. And Burdisso believes that he is the present and the future of both Argentina and Inter. He also praised Conte and said that he can start a winning cycle for Inter. Furthermore, he said Inter are the best team in defense. Thus, they are undoubtedly on top of Serie A. And it is highly likely for them to win the Scudetto.
