Paulo Dybala Chooses Inter over Premier League clubs

As per the reports in La Gazzetta dello Sport, Paulo Dybala has taken a call on his future. The Argentine striker will run out of contract with Juventus in the summer and has been linked with a move away. With numerous suitors showing interest from Italy and beyond, Dybala has had a choice to make. And as Italian media confirms, Paulo Dybala chooses Inter over Premier League interest. The 28-year-old striker has spent the majority of his professional career in Italy. And it comes as no surprise that he wants to ply his trade in the Serie A.

With Juventus not budging to let him have his desired salary. And competition for his role from new signing Dusan Vlahovic has been a key factor in his decision to leave Turin. More importantly, Bianconeri’s interest in the likes of Giacomo Raspadori has also made Dybala uncomfortable.

What’s Next for Dybala?

Paulo Dybala Chooses Inter

As per sources, Paulo has agreed to a €6 Million per year contract with bonuses. But what’s more important is how his recent struggles with injuries has kept him out of action. When Dybala is fit and available, his impact is felt with notable contributions. But, when he is out, his contributions can be hard to replace. Furthermore, he is an unreliable asset because of his injury risk. This is one of the reasons Juventus are not trying harder to keep him at the club.

From Inter’s perspective, they’re looking to cash in on Lautaro Martinez. More importantly, Paulo Dybala is a €40 Million asset available for free. And a perfect replacement for Lautaro if they manage to get the right price for him. Inter President has set a goal to finish the transfer window with a €60 Million profit and wage cuts. This will impact Inter’s ability to sign replacements. Moreover, with that in mind, Inter have done exceptionally well at securing Calhanoglu in the past and Dybala and Onana for this summer, all for free.

Paulo Dybala chooses Inter over Premier League clubs

Dybala wants to stay in Italy and that’s no secret. Subsequently, not every club in Italy is willing to shell out €6 Million a year for his services at the moment. Therefore, his decision to choose Inter was more or less predictable. If he manages to steer clear of injuries, Dybala can be a real force in Simone Inzaghi’s system which suits his style of play.

Furthermore, he can prove to be Inter’s best free transfer in the recent past. If he replaces either Lautaro or Dzeko in Inzaghi’s plans, Dybala will most certainly be an upgrade.
