Samuel Eto’o was the best forward of his time

Samuel Eto’o was the best forward in his generation. The lion king turns 40 today. He made 102 appearances in an Inter shirt. He scored 53 goals (37 in his second season). Moreover, he won six trophies, including the Coppa Italia in 2011 following his brace in the final. Two seasons were enough to see him embed his names into the hearts of Inter fans and go down as a legend in the Club’s history. Samuel Eto’o joined Inter in the summer of 2009. He had only one thing in mind, which was to help the team to reach that next level. His career spoke for itself, his leadership, both in terms of technique and team morale, did the rest. He must be happy seeing the current Inter team being favourites for the Scudetto.

Despite the Supercoppa loss, he scored a goal on his debut. The love story took off, and his aspirations were a key element in the wild ride of 2010. One of them, above all, is in London against Chelsea, a club that in previous years has often been a hindrance for the Nerazzurri team. Moreover, the squad at the very top of European football was made possible by that banger from Samuel, a great goal from outside the box. So, this followed a dedication from Inter fans, who have always felt a deep bond with the Cameroonian legend.
