Spurs target Milan Skriniar as Inter increase the player fee. Tottenham have been after Skriniar for a while now and had made a bid of €30 million for him. However, the deal did not get through at the time since Inter were determined on keeping the Slovakian. Skriniar made a move to Inter from Sampdoria in July 2017. He signed a five-year contract with Inter Milan. Inter paid a reported fee of €20 million and striker Gianluca Caprari. In fact, this transfer made Skriniar the most expensive Slovakian player of all time.
Furthermore, he made his competitive debut for the club in August against Fiorentina in the opening match of 2017-18 Serie A. Inter won by 3-0 at the San Siro. After some time, Skriniar was celebrated for his performances, being one of the best players in the squad. He continued with his impressive performances and ended up playing all the 38 matches in the league, with only two yellow cards.

In November 2019, Skriniar made his 100th appearance for Inter in all competitions, all of them as a starter. Further, he has proved to be an irreplaceable asset for Inter. It is highly unlikely for the Nerazzurri to get go of a player like him. While Tottenham are in desperate need of a leader in the back and Skriniar can play the role for them. However, that can only be possible if the Spurs can shell out €52 million.
Tottenham have been off the rails as they’ve lost the last five out of six games. While they are in possession of players like Harry Kane and Son Heung-min in the attack, their defence is putting them in trouble. If Mourinho stays the coach till Summer, he must look to get Skriniar in his team. In fact, Eriksen to Spurs deal could have gone through in January but a deal could not be finalized.
