Steven Zhang approves Francesco Acerbi’s loan move to Inter after Inzaghi’s pressure. The Italian manager was vocal about his needs in the recent press conference after the Cremonese match. Inzaghi said that he wanted a center-back to help in rotation and replace Ranocchia who went to Monza on a free transfer. The Nerazzurri were searching for various options before signing Acerbi, but they have finally decided to move for him as per Gianluca Di Marzio.
Inzaghi was persistent on signing Acerbi as he can serve as a backup to De Vrij and fit well in his system. Acerbi is good on the ball and will help Inter in building out from the back. He gives progressive passes that can take Inter forward quickly. Also, he can provide accurate long balls so Lautaro and Lukaku can benefit from this by making runs. The Italian defender reads the game well and will help Inter in winning aerial duels.

The Inter Milan owner was reluctant to give a green light to Acerbi’s loan move. He did not want to increase the wage bill unnecessarily, but after Inzaghi’s comment, he agreed. Also, Acerbi is taking a cut to fit Inter’s wage bill as he wants to play under Inzaghi. He has a strong left foot and can operate on the left side of the back three as well. Also, his passing range will help Inter against teams that keep low blocks.
Inzaghi has also said that he will need a total of six center-backs to help in rotation and if Inter do not sell Skriniar, he will have six defenders. Inter were looking for a more younger player who would have helped them in the future. But they could not offer those players and will have to contend with Acerbi.
