Wijnaldum not a priority for Inter in the summer

Gini Wijnaldum is not a priority for Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri showed interest in him a couple of months ago. The 30-year-old midfielder is out of contract in the summer. Also, there is no indication that he will agree to sign a new deal with Liverpool in the coming months. The Dutchman claimed that he would be devastated if he has to leave Liverpool. But it has been said that it is likely he is going to walk away at the end of the season on a free transfer. Although the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp intends on keeping the Dutchman and is hesitant to let go of him.

The Serie A giants were in talks with his representatives for several months. So it looked likely that there was a contract offer forthcoming. But according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, the negotiations have completely stopped. Inter have paused their interest in Gini and they are not in talks with his representatives at the moment. They remain interested but the Italian giants have other priorities in the market and Gini is not at the top of their agenda.

Wijnaldum not a priority

Wijnaldum not a priority, as Inter have other targets for this summer

Inter need a wing-back similar to Hakimi on the left. Ivan Perisic is more of a winger and leaves a lot of space behind. While Ashley Young is past his prime and lacks pace. Darmian does not give that belief in going forward. So it is important to find a quality left wing-back. They will be looking for a backup for Brozovic and Lukaku as well. Inter currently have enough midfielders and hence they do not need Gini whose salary would be high.

But, the Dutchman is waiting to make a final call on his future soon. Barcelona could be his next destination, given their constant interest in him. He could also have an option of joining Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
