Bologna stun Inter as Orsolini scores the only goal

Bologna stun Inter at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara as the Nerazzurri suffer their seventh defeat of the season. This defeat makes Napoli 18 points clear at the top, and it will be tough to catch them now. Inter struggled to get in the game and looked tired because of their physical game against Porto in mid-week. Also, the rain did not help, as Inter were struggling to move the ball around quickly. Hence, Inter Milan’s build-up was slow, and it was difficult to penetrate Bologna’s defense. Inzaghi had to make several changes to keep the players fresh.

Dimarco and Skriniar had physical discomfort, so they had to stay out. Inter could not settle into the game as Bologna were in full flow since the start. Inter looked sluggish, and Bologna were dominating the game in the first half. The hosts scored an early goal, but it was ruled offside after the VAR check. A few minutes later, Onana managed to save Cambiaso’s shot, and Soriano hit the crossbar on the rebound.

Inter were lacking rhythm due to various changes in the lineup and the damp surface. Bologna’s early wave settled towards the end of the half, and Inter had a big chance. Bastoni found Lautaro in the box, but the Argentine could not keep his header on target. Inter had only one shot on target till half-time.

Bologna stun Inter to help Napoli get an 18-point advantage

Inter had a strong start to the half as they got a brilliant chance. Lukaku and Lautaro played a quick one-two, and the Belgian striker played to Gosens. The keeper came out, and Gosens managed to pass it to Calhanoglu, who could not keep his shot on target from close range. Inter got another chance from close range, but the Belgian striker could not add power to his shot. Lucumi did not clear the tricky long ball from Inter, and the ball came to Lukaku.

Inzaghi then made some changes to help Inter get into the game. Dzeko got a chance to hit first time, but the Bosnian striker could not place his shot. Bologna finally got a well-deserved goal, as they hit Inter on transition. D’Ambrosio played a loose ball to Barella, which got intercepted. Schouten played a brilliant ball to free Orsolini, who chipped over Onana to continue his goal-scoring form. Inter could not find a reply and will now focus for Lecce next week.
