Fiorentina beat Inter as their poor form continues

Fiorentina beat Inter Milan as the Nerazzurri continue to struggle in Serie A. Inter will have to pull themselves up if they wish to stay in the top four this season. Currently, nothing is going right with Inzaghi in Serie A, as it was their third consecutive loss in a row. The Italian manager decided to make some changes and kept Lautaro Martinez on the bench. Inzaghi wants him fresh for the Coppa Italia semi-final against Juve.

Fiorentina had a bright start to the half and were pressing high in the opening minutes. Inter were struggling to control the tempo of the game at the start, as they missed the services of Calhanoglu. Onana had to make a couple of saves to keep Inter in the game. While the Nerazzurri were not clinical in the offense. Inter had a one-dimensional and predictable plan for attack. Dumfries was using his burst of pace to get past the backline and cut back to Lukaku.

Mkhitaryan had the best chance for Inter in the first half. But he decided not to square it to Lukaku on the counter. While his shot went straight to the keeper. Ikone had a brilliant chance on the other end, but he was off-balance and could not find the goal.

Fiorentina beat Inter as Bonaventura scores the only goal

Inter had a big chance at the start of the second half, as Correa and Bastoni linked up well in the left flank. The Nerazzurri were creating overload from the left, with Bastoni pushing forward frequently. The Italian defender squared a perfect ball to Lukaku, but the Belgian failed to convert it.

Shortly after Lukaku’s big miss, Inter got punished from the corner. Cabral flicked from the near post that Onana pushed away. However, Bonaventura nodded in on the rebound. The former Milan midfielder gave Fiorentina an important lead.
Inter again came close as they got a free-kick outside the box. Barella perfectly struck on the volley, but it hit the post.

Inzaghi finally brought Lautaro on the pitch. The Argentine had a penalty shout as he was brought down, but VAR suggested otherwise. Terracciano made some fine saves, in the end, to ensure Fiorentina kept all three points.
