Gosens and D’Ambrosio recover in time for Derby

Gosens and D’Ambrosio are back in the squad and will start on the bench for the Semi-Final clash tonight. The Nerazzurri are doing extensive preparation for a game that will be watched all over the world. Inzaghi commented yesterday that he might not have a couple of players to call upon. However, according to recent reports, both D’Ambrosio and Gosens will start on the bench. So, Inzaghi call them into action if needed.

The only absentee from the squad for tonight’s game will be Milan Skriniar. The Slovenian defender is recovering from his back injury. Inter have grown accustomed to his absence as Darmian has stepped up to cover the wide center-back position. Now, Inzaghi can call D’Ambrosio from the bench if he wishes to switch Darmian to the wing-back in the second half. The defensive unit have regrouped in recent games that have helped Inter regain form in Serie A. Also, with the absence of Leao in the first leg, Inter will be more confident in going forward.

Gosens and D'Ambrosio

Gosens and D’Ambrosio return to the squad for Derby della Madonnina

Gosens had a shoulder injury in the Lazio game after scoring the goal. Lukaku played a brilliant ball toward the German defender, and his acrobatic finish resulted in dislocating his shoulder. However, Gosens is back in the squad and could be called upon late in the half if Inzaghi needs fresh legs in the left flank. Bellanova has also impressed in recent matches and could be a surprise substitute in a game like this.

Gosens and D’Ambrosio coming back in the squad give Inzaghi enough cover in defense. The Nerazzurri often switch off in defense late in the second half. So having options on the bench will help Inzaghi to keep the team on the pitch fresh. The only selection doubt for Inzaghi is who to start in the midfield alongside Barella.
