Inter and Juve to battle for Zielinski next summer

Inter Milan and Juve are ready to battle for Piotr Zielinski next summer. The Napoli midfielder’s contract will expire at the end of June. Zielinski had been linked with a potential move away from Stadio Diego Armando Maradona during the previous summer. Al-Ahli from the Saudi Pro League expressed a strong interest in him. However, that move to Saudi did not materialize, and Zielinski decided to remain at Napoli this season.

Since joining Napoli in the summer of 2016, Zielinski has become a main figure, amassing over three hundred appearances for the club. He has played a crucial role in the team’s success, winning the Coppa Italia and, more notably, the Scudetto in the previous season. Zielinski’s versatility and consistency have made him a favorite of all managers, from Maurizio Sarri to Carlo Ancelotti, Gennaro Gattuso, Luciano Spalletti, and now Rudi Garcia.

Despite his strong bond with Napoli, Zielinski is not looking to sign a new contract. There are discussions about extending his contract until June 2026. This would lead to a reduction in his wages from €3.5 million net per season to €2.5 million. However, Zielinski has not agreed to this deal as of now.

Inter Milan and Beppe Marotta are always looking for signing free agents. They have made signing free transfers a cornerstone of their transfer market strategy. However, they are not the only team interested in Zielinski. Serie A rivals Juventus are also keen on signing the midfielder on a free transfer.

According to reports Juventus might even attempt to make a move for Zielinski during the January transfer window. This makes it likely that Juventus will seek to strengthen their midfield in the summer. The competition for Zielinski’s signature promises to be a talking point in the upcoming summer transfer window.
