Inter Milan strengthened their position at the top of Serie A, extending their lead to four points as they beat Lazio 2-0 in a hard-fought game. The win marked their seventh triumph in the last eight league games. The Nerazzurri solidified their place at the top of the Serie A table with 41 points from 16 matches and creating a comfortable gap over second-placed Juventus.
Despite the ultimate success, Inter’s performance was far from flawless. The Nerazzurri endured prolonged periods of adversity against a determined Lazio side. The intensity was high from the start, with Lazio dictating play and Inter struggling to find their rhythm in the away game. Controlling possession and displaying strength in the center of the park, Lazio appeared the more composed side.
However, Inter managed to break the deadlock unexpectedly in the 40th minute. A misplaced Adam Marusic backpass gifted Lautaro Martinez an opportunity. The Argentine forward rounded Ivan Provedel and clinically finished to give Inter the lead before half-time.

In the 66th minute, Marcus Thuram doubled Inter’s lead, converting an assist from Barella in a well-executed counter-attack.
Lazio’s aspirations of a comeback were dealt a severe blow with a straight red card to Manuel Lazzari for a foul in the 86th minute. The Nerazzurri came close to the third goal of the game, but Mkhitaryan and Frattesi could not convert their chances. Inter effectively maintained their lead for the remainder of the match. The Nerazzurri managed to secure a crucial victory as they had problems throughout the game.
