Inter comeback against Cremonese to win 2-1

Inter comeback against Cremonese after conceding an early goal from Okereke. The Nerazzurri were struggling in the early stages of the game, but Lautaro Martinez again came to the rescue as he scored a brace. Inter learned from their mistake against Empoli, as they were patient after conceding and were clinical in front of the goal. The Nerazzurri are now in 2nd position, still 10 points behind the league leaders Napoli.

Inter conceded early, and the game could have gone either way if they were not patient. Inzaghi decided to start Gagliardini as both Brozovic and Calhanoglu were out. While Darmian played in Skriniar’s position, Dumfries started at the wing-back spot. Inter struggled to keep the ball at the start.

The hosts found the first goal after a throw-in, as Inter’s defense again lacked the concentration to stop the attack. Okereke produced a screamer as it hit the underside of the crossbar to go in and gave them an early lead. Inter soon had a chance from Dzeko, but the Bosnian striker could not control his volley. He again got a chance from a corner in the 21st minute. Carnesecchi saved his shot, but Lautaro was in proximity to strike on the rebound. The Nerazzurri could have taken the lead before the half time, but Carnesecchi produced a double save to keep it 1-1.

Inter comeback against Cremonese, as Lautaro scores a brace

The Nerazzurri had a strong start to the second half with a chance at the near post, but Carnesecchi managed to cover it. Inter finally got their lead after relentless pressure, as Calhanoglu played the ball to Dzeko. The Bosnian striker was deep and played the ball to Lautaro, who made the run behind. The Argentine forward produced a powerful strike, and the ball went in after the deflection.

Inzaghi then made some changes and brought Gosnes and Asllani to strengthen the midfield. Cremonese were struggling to create any real chance, as Inter were solid and concentrating this time on defense. Inzaghi replaced Dzeko and Lautaro to give them some rest as Correa and Lukaku played up top. Dumfries had a chance to score or square it to Lukaku, late in added time. But the Dutch defender took too long to make his decision. Inter will now play Atalanta in the quarter-finals of Coppa Italia.
