Inter sign Yann Bisseck for €7 million

Inter sign the under-21 German star Yann Bisseck after triggering his release clause from Aarhus. The Nerazzurri were keen to add a defensive reinforcement for the next season after losing Milan Skriniar on a free transfer. Moreover, the Nerazzurri have failed to sign Cesar Azpilicueta on a free transfer from Chelsea. The Spanish defender is moving to Atletico Madrid after terminating his contract. Bisseck has the experience of playing in a back three and is seen as a backup and rotation option this season.

The Nerazzurri were all set to sign Azpilicueta for the next season, as the Spaniard was the ideal option to play the right side of the back three. However, the Chelsea defender had personal reasons for moving to Atletico as his family will be more comfortable returning to his native land. Inter hence, did not waste time to go for their other target and have beaten many clubs to sign Bisseck. Manchester City were also eyeing the Koln youth product, but Inter made the move first.

Inter sign Yann Bisseck after triggering his release clause

The Nerazzurri see Yann Bisseck as a backup option for Bastoni. The German defender is excellent on the left side of the back three. Inter had to play Dimarco as a backup when Bastoni was unavailable. Also, Acerbi had to shift to the left, although he does not have the athletic attributes to play in that role. Now Inzaghi will have the depth to keep his defense fresh.

Inter could go for another defender that will fill the void of Skriniar. The Slovenian defender’s qualities are hard to find in a younger player. The Nerazzurri have been targeting young talents and free agents for sustainable and consistent growth in the future. Bellanova was impressive last season when he had chances, and Asllani is a decent backup option.
