Inter target Karsdorp from Roma as Dumfries replacement

Inter Milan target Rick Karsdorp from AS Roma as a possible replacement for Denzel Dumfries. The Nerazzurri might sell Dumfries in the winter transfer window, as many clubs are keen to have him. The Dutch defender has been attracting lots of interest from the Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal. So Inter are looking at several players in advance, who can replace Dumfries, and will settle in Inzaghi’s system.

Rick Karsdorp has been impressive for AS Roma in Serie A. The former Feyenoord defender is a backup to Dumfries in the Netherlands national team. Both play in the same position, but Dumfries gets the nod because of his qualities in the final third. However, Karsdorp is a better defender and has improved under Jose Mourinho. Inter have struggled in transition this season as many teams exploit the space left by Dumfries. Karsdorp has a different style of play and will add a cover to the backline.

Inter Milan also have Wilfried Singo in their sight, as he will come for €10 million. Currently, the Nerazzurri already have a couple of right wing-backs other than Dumfries. Darmian is an experienced and safe option, while Bellanova has been a breath of fresh air in the right flank in his few appearances. But Inter are still searching for a viable option, that can give something different from the right flank.

Dumfries has improved a lot at Inter, and his impressive performances at the World Cup has attracted the attention of many big clubs. His offensive style of play is unique, and gels well with teams that have a high line, and like to play with full-backs high and wide to stretch the opponent’s backline. Hence, many teams could go on a bidding war for him in the winter transfer window.
