Inter will extend Lukaku loan after this season for one more season. They can not afford to buy him permanently from Chelsea football club. The Nerazzurri want the Belgian to stay, as he played his best football, and lead Inter in the title race under Conte. However, he is not the same player anymore, and Inter are not going to break the bank to sign him permanently. But they will extend his loan deal and hope he comes back to his usual form and fitness levels soon.
According to Di Marzio, Inter are not in a situation to pay €60-70 million for the Belgian striker. However, they will discuss another loan deal with Chelsea in the summer. Despite not being fit for most of the season. Inter are willing to extend Lukaku’s stay, as they are aware of his qualities. The Nerazzurri and Lukaku himself is working hard to reach his maximum potential.
Inter will extend Lukaku loan, but will not buy him permanently
Chelsea went all in to buy Lukaku in 2021 despite several offers getting rejected by Inter. However, their last offer was huge, and Inter had to sell him as they were in a dire financial situation. Lukaku had a good couple of games during the start of the season but then faded down. His injury issues, and spat with the manager lead to a bitter return to Stamford bridge. He lost match practice and was on the bench for many games. Since Tuchel did not want to change his system for the Belgian striker.
Chelsea will not sell Lukaku below €60 million, as they can not incur more loss on the deal. They are struggling in front of the goal, but they do not want to bring Lukaku back. So a loan deal will be the optimum solution for both parties. However, Lukaku will have to start performing at the top level to earn his stay at Inter Milan.
