Dzeko wants to extend contract with Inter

Edin Dzeko wants to extend his contract with the Nerazzurri this year. Inter Milan are planning on dealing with contract renewals during the World Cup. Several players will be out of contract after the end of this year, and Inter want to give new contract to some of them. The Bosnian striker is one of them, and he could get a contract renewal if he continues to perform well. Dzeko has helped Inter this year by playing as a backup to Lukaku, who has struggled with injuries this season.

The Bosnian striker has the aim to win the title with Inter and he is helping Inter to get back in the title race. Dzeko has loads of experience playing in top clubs and still has a lot to offer. However, he will have to be consistent to get a contract renewal, as last year he got out of form during the latter part of the season. Until Lukaku comes back, Dzeko is the preferred partner with Lautaro at the front. They both have formed a good understanding. However, Dzeko does not help Inter enough with the pressing.

Dzeko is always in a good position to receive the ball that helps Inter to progress their attack. The Bosnian uses his body to act as a focal point for his teammates with his back to the goal. Also, his passing and link-up play is good and helps other Inter players. However, he struggles to finish some chances from close range.

The Nerazzurri will be forced to give him another year if he continues his good displays. But Inter Milan will be reluctant to give Dzeko a contract renewal on the same salary of €5.5 million. So the Bosnian striker will have to take a wage cut if he wants to play for another year with Inter.
