Galatasaray eye Correa as Icardi’s replacement

Galatasaray eye Joaquin Correa as an option if they decide to sell Mauro Icardi in this window. The former Inter Milan captain left in 2019 after issues with the management. He joined Paris Saint Germain and won several trophies with the French club. Now, after serving a season on loan with Galatasaray, Icardi joined the Turkish club permanently earlier in this window.

However, Galatasaray are looking to sell Icardi already, and are targeting replacements for him. They see another Inter Milan forward as a potential option. Inter Milan are trying to sell Correa, but they have failed to find any possible suitors for him. Galatasaray are exploring this option as the Argentine forward is younger and has his prime years ahead of him. Moreover, his transfer value is low so he will come at a cheaper rate.

After Conte’s exit Inter brought Inzaghi, and Correa came along with him from Lazio. However, the Argentine forward has failed to leave a mark so far. Moreover, Inzaghi himself is unhappy with his former Lazio forward and is willing to sell him. Correa has shown flashes of his talent coming from the bench, but his injury issues have restricted him to get more game time.

Inter are looking to invest in a quality forward to help in supporting Lautaro and Thuram this season. With Lukaku out of the equation, Inter would like to sell Correa and use the funds to bring a more competent forward.

The Nerazzurri have a couple of options on their radar but are struggling to reach an agreement with the clubs. Atletico Madrid are demanding high transfer fees for Morata, €20 million, whose contract ends next year. Meanwhile, Arsenal want €40 million for their young Folarin Balogun, who was on loan to Reims last season.
