Inter bid €24m for Scamacca, Atalanta try to hijack

Inter Milan bid €24m for Scamacca plus €4 million in add-ons. The Nerazzurri want to close this deal soon, as Atalanta are also eyeing the Italian striker. Scamacca will be a good fit for Inzaghi’s system as he can link up the play and has the potential to become even better. Inter want to support Lautaro and Thuram in attack as both Lukaku and Dzeko are out.

Inter Milan already have Scamacca’s consent and are now waiting for West Ham to accept their offer. The English club are expecting a better offer from Atalanta, as they do not like Inter’s proposal. Scamacca is keen to return to Serie A, and Inter would be the ideal club to join. The Nerazzurri are attracting top talents after their success in the Champions League last season.

Inter were targeting the former Sassuolo striker in previous windows as well. But he made the move to Premier League last summer. However, Scamacca could not meet his expectations and struggled in the physical league. Moreover, his profile did not suit David Moyes’ system at West Ham, and the London club had a poor season. Scamacca was often alone in the front line, and could not showcase his talent.

Inzaghi needs a striker like Scamacca, as the Italian forward will complement the other two strikers. Both Thuram and Lautaro like to make runs in behind and cause trouble to defenses with their pace. Meanwhile, Scamacca likes to drop and link up by playing passes in the channel. His tall physique makes him a perfect focal point to progress the attacks. Inter can use him just like they did Dzeko. Moreover, Scamacca has his prime years ahead of him, so Inter can make him a part of their plans for the future.
