With Sassuolo adamant about their price tag for the Italian midfielder, Inter are looking at other options, and Samardzic can be the one to bet on. However, they will face competition for him as their city rivals AC Milan are also targeting him. The Rossoneri have been monitoring the Udinese midfielder since he was at Hertha BSC.

But they have been stalling for too long, and Brozovic’s sale did not provide the desired funds to initiate a move for Frattesi. So Inter see Samardzic as a cheaper alternative to Frattesi, but has immense potential. The former RB Leipzig midfielder is direct with his style of play. He ranks high among other midfielders in taking shots and creating chances.
Samardzic can be used as a backup option for both Barella and Mkhitaryan this season. Calhanoglu will continue in the number 6 role, and Inzaghi can have options to choose from. However, Samardzic is a younger and unproven midfielder, who might not be a reliable starter in big games.
