Inter target Demiral after Azpilicueta deal collapsed

Inter Milan target Merih Demiral as the Nerazzurri are searching for Milan Skriniar’s replacement. Inter were ready to fill the void left by the Slovenian defender with Cesar Azpilicueta, but the Spaniard decided to move to Atletico Madrid. They now identify Demiral as their primary target but will make a move after sorting out Lukaku and Frattesi’s situation. They have signed a young German defender Yann Bisseck in the meantime.

Demiral has the required experience of playing in Serie A and can operate on the right side of the back three. The Turkish defender has played for Sassuolo, Juventus, and Atalanta. Moreover, he is 25 and has his prime years ahead of him. Inter will rotate him with Darmian, who proved to be excellent in Skriniar’s position. Demiral will be the safe option to go far considering his experience and quality to sense danger quickly. The former Juve defender has played with the likes of Bonucci, Chiellini, De Ligt, and now young talents like Scalvini.

Inter target Merih Demiral as Skriniar’s replacement

The Turkish defender has a similar profile to Skriniar, as he is aggressive and solid with his defending. The Atalanta center-back is excellent in the air and can play out from the back. Moreover, he has played with some great coaches, and Sarri was the one to start him ahead of Bonucci and Chiellini in some games. He is also a leader for his country and will bring the same qualities to Inter. The Nerazzurri, however, have other options on their list as well.

Trevoh Chalobah is another target for Skriniar’s replacement, as the English defender plays in the same position. Moreover, the Chelsea center-back will bring versatility to the squad, as he can play as a number 6. After losing Brozovic, Inter could use a player like him, who can slot in the midfield as well.
