Inter Milan eye Akanji as Ranocchia replacement

Inter Milan eye Manuel Akanji to increase depth in the defense before going into the new season. Inzaghi has been looking to sign another defender as Inter looks short after the departure of Ranocchia. Moreover, De Vrij’s form has declined in recent seasons and Inter will need a defender to challenge in that position. Simone Inzaghi will also be able to rotate his defenders which will help in the long reason.

Inter have been looking to sign Akanji for a long time, but they stopped their chase as they wanted to sign Bremer. However, now Inter have reignited their interest after losing Bremer. Also, after having a poor pre-season, it is evident that Inter will need a new defender. The Nerazzurri have conceded more goals than they would have liked in the pre-season, and Inzaghi has to strengthen his backline.

Inter Milan eye Akanji but Dortmund will not go below €20 million

Inter Milan are waiting for Dortmund to drop their price tag. They will not be willing to pay €20 million for a backup defender. Inzaghi likes his former player from Acerbi as well, but Akanji is younger and can replace De Vrij in the future. But the owners might not be willing to invest that amount. So Inter will have to wait till the end of the transfer window when teams will lower their demands. Also, Dortmund are looking to sell the Swiss defender this season as they will lose him for free next season.

Akanji is exceptional in passing and will help Inter in building up from the back quickly. He attempts lots of passes and carries the ball forward to evade the press. Also, his progressive passes help the team to move forward. Akanji is not looking to extend his contract next year, so Dortmund will have to cash in on him this season.
