Inzaghi is optimistic despite a poor pre-season

Inzaghi is optimistic for the new campaign despite a poor pre-season as he believes the team will be in good condition for their first match. Inter have been below average in the pre-season and there has been some concerns over the defense. But Inzaghi is optimistic that his team will be ready for the upcoming long season. The Italian tactician has given enough game time to the new signings and has brought Lukaku back to fitness.

There has been positives from the pre-season as the new signings were impressive, and Inzaghi has brought players back to their fitness levels. However, some players were looking tired and will need help this week as Inter prepares for their first match against Leece. Skriniar after coming from injury looked fatigued, as was evident in the last match against Villarreal. Inzaghi is also struggling to defend against the counter-attacks which was evident in Lens and Villarreal matches. Some players came late in the pre-season, which is another factor for the slow start in the friendlies.

Asllani and Lukaku have been impressive for Inter, and Inzaghi is pleased with them. Asllani looks like the perfect backup for Brozovic as he is good on the ball, and can spray long balls. However, he is young and will have to work on the defensive side of his game. The young midfielder will be an understudy to the Croatian, and Inter will benefit from him as they struggled a lot when Brozovic was absent last season.

Lukaku was slightly overweight when he came back to Inter from Chelsea. But Inzaghi and the fitness coaches have helped him to get back in shape with his previous Inter diet. Inzaghi has said that he will not change his tactics for Lukaku. The Belgian played in the counter-attacking style under Conte previously.
