Inter Milan have Akanji and Acerbi on their radar as they are looking to make one final signing. The Nerazzurri are short of a center-back after Ranocchia’s departure to Monza. Inter are assessing their options and have narrowed it down to two. Inzaghi is insisting to bring in a defender as a backup for De Vrij and rotation. The funds from Casedei’s move to Chelsea and Pinamonti’s move to Sassuolo are used in other areas, so Inter are looking for a free agent.
The Nerazzurri are facing a dilemma as they have to choose between the two targets. Akanji will be a more sensible option as he is still 27 and is in his prime. While Acerbi is 34, he will barely give a season or two to Inter. Akanji can replace De Vrij in the future as well, so Inter should make a move for him. However, Inter want Dortmund to lower its asking price which is €20 million. Inter are also proposing a loan deal for one year with a buy-out option.

Inter Milan have Akanji and Acerbi on their transfer list
Inzaghi would also like the signing of Acerbi, as he is his former player. Acerbi has lots of experience in Serie A, and he knows Inzaghi’s system through and through. But due to his age, Inter are considering Akanji’s transfer. Acerbi will be able to play as a backup for De Vrij and help in the rotation. But he will not help Inter in the future. However, he is a free agent, so Inter will be willing to make a move for him.
Finally, both deals has its advantage, but Acerbi’s signing will be a short-term signing. While Akanji can help Inter if De Vrij or Skriniar decided to leave Inter next year. The Nerazzurri are patient and hope that Dortmund will lower their asking price towards the end of the transfer window.
