Inter offer De Vrij a new two-year deal

Inter offer De Vrij a new two-year deal

Inter Milan have given an offer to Stefan De Vrij for a new two-year deal. The Nerazzurri do not want to lose the Dutch defender on a free transfer, so they are looking to tie him down for two more years. Di Marzio has confirmed that Inter have submitted the offer to De Vrij. Meanwhile, they will have to start searching for his replacement once De Vrij leaves the club. So renewing his deal will be a more feasible decision. But the Dutch defender is also looking for a new club as he has interest from clubs like Atletico Madrid and Spurs.

The Nerazzurri do not want to lose their key defenders in a single transfer window. Milan Skriniar is still thinking about his future with Inter, and there is a real chance he might leave as a free agent. So Inter are looking to keep De Vrij and search for Skriniar’s replacement in the summer. Moreover, the dutch defender has worked under Inzaghi previously, so he knows all about his system.

Spurs and Atletico Madrid are monitoring De Vrij’s situation, as they want to sign him on a free transfer. Both Antonio Conte and Diego Simeone admire De Vrij’s game, as he will fit perfectly in their system. Spurs and Atletico Madrid play with a lower defensive line so De Vrij’s lack of pace will not be an issue. The Dutch defender reads the game well and is excellent at building attacks from the back.

Currently, De Vrij is a backup and rotation option in Inter’s defense. So he is looking to move to a club that will make him a regular starter. Skriniar and Bastoni are irreplaceable, and Inzaghi prefers Acerbi over him in big matches.
