Inter rekindle interest in Taremi for January window

Inter Milan rekindle their interest in Mehdi Taremi as they look to bolster their attacking unit. The Nerazzurri are looking for options to cover for Marko Arnautovic, who will remain out for a long time. The Austrian striker started the season well, but will now miss the majority of games for Inter. Hence Simone Inzaghi is planning to bring another forward to help out in the long season as the Nerazzurri compete in all tournaments. Sanchez is the only backup for Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez.

The Nerazzurri were keen to sign Mehdi Taremi in the summer transfer window. However, they could not meet FC Porto’s evaluation and brought Thuram in as a free agent. However, after Arnautovic’s injury, Inter do have another opening and are willing to sign a player in the winter transfer window. The Nerazzurri can sign a free agent but are inclined to get Taremi to improve their squad for the future.

Inter Milan rekindle interest in Taremi as Arnautovic’s backup

Inter have had Taremi on the radar for quite some time now as he meets the requirements of Inzaghi’s system. The Iranian striker is physically imposing and has good link-up play with fine finishing. Lautaro and Thuram would get support from him as Taremi can attract defenders while they offer runs in behind. Also, Taremi’s contract will expire at the end of this season. So Inter can get Taremi at a reasonable price as he is not looking to renew his contract at FC Porto.

Taremi is looking for better opportunities away from Liga Portugal, and Inter can be a good prospect in Serie A. Inzaghi has the backing of the board and if he feels that there is a need to sign Taremi, then Inter will try their best to sign the Iranian international.
