Inter sign Carlos Augusto to replace Gosens

Inter Milan sign Carlos Augusto from Monza to upgrade their left flank. Robin Gosens is joining Union Berlin after constant speculation. The German defender could not replicate the success he had with Atalanta and is looking to embark on a new adventure with the Bundesliga side. Augusto is an upgrade to the German defender, as he had a brilliant season with Monza.

Inter have invested in their flanks this season as they want to keep their wing-backs fresh till the end of the season. Cuadrado came in at the right flank as Bellanova decided to leave. The Colombian wing-back does not have the spark he used to have, but he will be a viable backup for Dumfries. Meanwhile, Dimarco will get competition from Augusto, who is excellent in defense and can provide crosses accurately.

The Nerazzuri have signed the Brazilian defender on a loan deal. But there is an obligation to buy clause at €13 million. He will earn €2.2 million net per season and will be signing a five-year contract.

Inter Milan sign Carlos Augusto to improve their left flank

Inter will get some flair from the Brazilian defender on their flanks, something they have lacked. Both Dimarco and Dumfries are direct players and could not create chances by getting past players. Augusto will bring something different on the flanks. Dimarco is excellent going forward, and was one of the best players for Inter as he chipped in with goals too. But Augusto will provide more defensive cover, so Inzaghi will have a different option to choose from.

Meanwhile, the German defender, Gosens will play in the Bundesliga for the first time in his career. He could not showcase his talent at Inter, his injuries played a big role in restricting him. Also, Dimarco’s form last season did not help Gosens in getting more chances.
