Wolfsburg target Gosens as Inter demand €18 million

Wolfsburg target Robin Gosens as the German defender’s future is uncertain at Inter Milan. Simone Inzaghi prefers to start Dimarco in the crucial games, and the Italian wing-back has shown that he is a level above Gosens in both the offensive and defensive phases. However, Gosens did start regularly for Inter, when Dimarco was out due to injuries in the latter part of the season. But he would always remain a second choice on the flank if he continues for the next season.

The German defender is hence open to move this summer and is attracting interest from Bundesliga clubs in the transfer window. Wolfsburg and Union Berlin are both in the race to sign him. However, Wolfsburg have convinced Gosens with their sporting project, and are speeding up their process to sign him. Inter are open to selling him but want €18 million from the German club. The Nerazzurri will be taking a loss with this evaluation, as they know Gosens’ market value has decreased recently.

Union Berlin had one of the best seasons last year, and are attracting players. However, Wolfsburg are making strides in their pursuit of Gosens, and are close to agreeing to a move with Inter. The German club have not made an offer yet, as Inter and Gosens wait. Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri have started the search for a new wing-back if Gosens decides to leave.

Inter Milan would go for Carlos Augusto from Monza as Gosens’ replacement, as per reports. The Brazilian wing-back had a brilliant season with Monza, and the Italian club are now demanding high fees for him. Inter plan to sign him with the funds they receive from Gosens’ sale in the window. The German defender wants to play regularly, and Inter can not start him ahead of Dimarco in big games.
