Inter target Mazzocchi as Gosens replacement

Inter Milan target Pasquale Mazzocchi as a replacement for Robin Gosens. The German wing-back is struggling to adapt at Inter and is not getting enough game time. The Nerazzurri have Mazzocchi on their radar, and they could make a move for him if Gosens decides to leave in January. The German defender wants more game-time as World Cup is coming, but Inzaghi prefers Dimarco over him. Also, Robin Gosens has been struggling with injuries, which has limited his contribution on the field.

The German defender could leave if he does not get regular playing time at Inter. The Nerazzurri have been monitoring Salernitana’s wing-back, and he could be a perfect replacement for Gosens. Mazzocchi has caught everyone’s eye in Serie A this season. He already has scored two goals and has provided two assists this season. His preferred foot is right, but he can operate on the left flank. Salernitana’s wing-backs have helped them to get to the top half of the table this season.

The Nerazzurri are also looking to add more depth after the World Cup. Many players will have fatigue and injury issues after the World Cup in Qatar, and Inter preparing some transfer targets. Mazzocchi can play on both flanks, so he can be a good backup for Dumfries as well. Salernitana are willing to listen to offers in January, and Inter could make a move for him. They turned down an offer of €3 million from Monza in the summer. Now after a brilliant start to the season, they will be looking for a higher transfer fee.

Inter have the pull to help in the transfer deal as Mazzocchi will be willing to play for Inter and compete in all competitions. However, the transfer will depend on Robin Gosens’ departure first.
