Jorginho to Inter is possible as Chelsea have decided that they are willing to offload him. As reported by Calci Mercato. They are keen on a player plus cash deal. Also, Inter have an interest in the mid-fielder and would like to swap him with Christian Eriksen.
Frank Lampard did not have Jorginho in his scheme of things. So he could not make into the 11 on regular basis. But, since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival, the Italian has got his place back. Moreover, he is now the focal point in the midfield for Chelsea.
Jorginho to Inter possible, but Tuchel likes the midfielder
Jorginho is an important piece in Thomas Tuchel’s system. The Italian controls the momentum of the game. He is an astute passer of the ball and is able to ping the long balls to the forward runners like Werner and Hudson Odoi. The 29-year-old resists the press really well and helps them to play out from the back. Moreover, Tuchel likes his team to have more possession and Jorginho helps in order to do so. He is also back on the spot-kick duty and has repaid Tuchel’s faith by scoring recent winners against Tottenham and Sheffield United from 12 yards. Also, Maurizio Sarri was keen to reunite with the player for a third time at Juventus before he was dismissed last summer. Chelsea are keen to give him a contract but that has not stopped the Nerazzurri in showing interest in the midfielder.
Conte is trying Eriksen in a similar position as well. But it has given him mixed results, which is understandable as he is primarily an attacking midfielder. Even though Eriksen is important for Inter, he has struggled to become a regular starter for them. Hence, the Inter boss wants someone like Jorginho who can take that position with ease. Chelsea are allegedly interested but only if Inter are willing to include the Dane and an additional £17 million fee on top.
