Lautaro to wear captain’s armband against Milan

Lautaro is going to wear the captain’s armband in the Derby Della Madonnina. The Nerazzurri have decided to change their captain, as Skriniar will leave Inter to join Paris Saint Germain on a free transfer in June. Handanovic is still the captain of the team, but Onana has replaced him in the starting eleven. So, Lautaro will lead the side against their city rivals on the weekend. Also, it is understood that he will be the captain of the club in Handanovic’s absence.

Since Onana’s inclusion in the starting eleven, Skriniar was the captain for Inter in most of the games. Danilo D’Ambrosio gets to wear the armband when he starts Inter. But the Italian defender has played a few games this season. Skriniar had leadership qualities, and he is Lautaro’s senior as he joined in 2017. But Inter have decided that he does not deserve to wear it now. So the Argentine will lead Inter Milan in most of the games from now on.

The Nerazzurri immediately took away the captaincy duties from the Slovenian defender since he decided to leave Inter. Milan Skriniar gave Inter a big blow as he conveyed his decision of joining Paris Saint Germain late in the transfer window. The Nerazzurri did not have enough time to find a replacement, and they could not sell him in this window. Losing a quality defender for free is a big blow for Inter, as they now have budget constraints while they search for his replacement.

Lautaro has been in terrific form since he won the World Cup, and has brought Inter to the second position in the Serie A table. He wore the captain’s armband on several games when Skriniar was not available. He has leadership qualities and is ready to take on the captaincy duties.
