Lukaku to City ‘Difficult’ as Inter wouldn’t let go of their valued asset. Lukaku is undoubtedly one of the most important players for Inter. He started playing football at the age of 5 with a local team Rupel Boom. He spent four seasons at Rupel Boom. Furthermore, he got into the youth academy of Lierse and played from 2004-2006. He scored a whopping 121 goals in 68 matches. Lukaku joined Chelsea after playing for Anderlecht for 2 years for a reported fee of around €12 million rising to €20 million in add-ons. He signed a 5-year contract.

However, in the 2012-13 season, he was sent out on loan to West Bromwich Albion. Furthermore, in the 13/14 season, he went out on loan to Everton. Lukaku signed a five-year deal with Everton in July 2014 for a recorded fee of £28 million. He was assigned the number 10 shirt. Further, he was a part of Manchester United for another five years before joining Inter.

Lukaku joined Inter in August 2019 on a reported fee of €80 million. He mentioned that his reason to leave Manchester United was that he became a scapegoat along with players such as Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez. Nonetheless, Lukaku has excelled at Inter more than ever before. He has been unstoppable with his goal contribution and has developed to be Inter’s best striker alongside Lautaro Martinez.

The duo Lukaku and Lautaro form Lula and are an essential pair for the Nerazzurri. Man City are looking to replace Aguero who might consider a move since his contract ends this season. However, Lukaku is happy at Inter and the Nerazzurri are sitting on top of the Serie A list. Plus, Inter have put a £93.75 million tag on Lukaku which Manchester City might not be able to pay.
