Man City target Dimarco to replace Joao Cancelo

Man City target Dimarco from Inter as they are looking for Cancelo’s replacement. The Portuguese defender is on loan at Bayern Munich till the summer. But there is a high chance that Cancelo will not return to the Etihad. So, Guardiola and his team have their eyes on Dimarco, who has been in fine form this season. The Italian wing-back is exceptional offensively and can settle well in Guardiola’s system. Dimarco has replaced Perisic perfectly and starts over Gosens.

After selling Cancelo to Bayern on a loan move, Pep has tried different players for the left-back role. However, none of them have nailed their position, and the Spanish manager is looking for a new addition. Nathan Ake, Rico Lewis, and Sergio Gomez all have played in that position, but have shown some shortcomings. Pep even tried Bernardo Silva in some games to find the right balance with and without the ball.

The Premier League giants have struggled this season in comparison to their previous ones. They are finding it hard to remain consistent, and want some new additions to get back to the top. Dimarco looks like a great choice with his offensive capabilities, particularly his excellence in dribbling and crossing. The Italian defender likes to make overlapping runs down the left flank to provide support to his teammates in attack. Also, he is a good set-piece taker, capable of delivering accurate crosses and taking dangerous free-kicks.
Defensively, Dimarco works hard to win back possession and track back to help out his teammates. But Inter Milan will not look to sell their first-choice wing-back. They will demand a huge transfer fee for him. The Nerazzurri already have a few players on the radar, like Antonee Robinson, if Dimarco leaves the club in the summer.
