The former Inter wing-back Ivan Perisic wants to return as the situation at Spurs is getting complicated. The Croatian wing-back decided to leave Inter on a free transfer to the North London club. Perisic was a key player in the Nerazzurri squad, as he created loads of chances from the left flank. However, the Croatian wing-back wanted to play in the Premier League, and the idea of playing under Conte again tempted him. But it has been an average season so far for him at Tottenham Hotspur.
Conte’s future at Tottenham Hotspur remains uncertain after losing to AC Milan in the UCL Round of 16. The Italian manager was brought with a vision to deliver silverware. Conte has failed to do so, even with huge investments from the club. Fabio Pratici took over as the director of football to help Conte. But the transfers have failed to live up to their potential. The former Inter manager is likely to leave in the summer, as his contract ends in June.
Perisic wants to return to Inter, as Conte could leave Spurs
The Nerazzurri have adapted well to Perisic’s absence, as Dimarco stepped up and filled the Croatian’s void. The Italian wing-back has been one of the best players this season for Inter. He has scored four goals and provided five assists this season.
However, Inter could use a proper backup for Dimarco, as Gosens is still adapting at Inter. The German wing-back has now recovered from his injuries, but Inter could look to sell him in the summer. So, there is a chance for the return of Ivan Perisic at Inter. Perisic has expressed his love for Inter previously and misses Serie A. Also, the Nerazzurri fans are fond of him, as he helped them to win the Scudetto after more than a decade.
