Inter are in informal contact with Antonio Conte, as he could leave Tottenham Hotspur at the end of this season. While Inter are doing well under Simone Inzaghi, they are monitoring other managers if something goes wrong. Conte had a successful tenure at Inter, as the Nerazzurri won the Scudetto after more than a decade. However, he will demand high wages and more command over the transfers.
The Italian manager’s future at Tottenham Hotspur depends on how deep he can take them in the Champions League. They have to turn the 1-0 deficit in the second leg against AC Milan at home. Conte has a poor record in the Champions League, and they have lost their last two games. Also, getting out of the FA Cup was a major blow, as they were targeting this trophy. Inter are keeping some managers on their radar if Inzaghi somehow fails to keep Inter in the top four.
Inter make informal contact with Antonio Conte
The former Inter manager was signed by Spurs to end the silverware drought. However, like all the recent managers, Conte has struggled at Spurs. But he has kept them in the top four in the Premier League. However, considering the amount of investment Spurs have done since Conte’s arrival, it has been a poor project so far. Hence, Conte could be on his way in the summer. So, Inter Milan could make a move for him if Inzaghi does not perform well.
The Nerazzurri have been inconsistent this season, and have struggled particularly against lower-placed opposition. While under Conte, the team did not lack intensity and were motivated for every game. But Inter will have to be ready for Conte’s demand if they want to bring him back. Hence, the Nerazzurri are keeping their options open at the moment.
