RB Leipzig eye Joaquin Correa as the Argentine forward is not in Simone Inzaghi’s plans. The Nerazzurri are willing to sell Correa and are searching for possible suitors. Now Leipzig are inquiring to Inter on Correa’s status and have made contact with the Argentine striker’s representatives as well. Moreover, Correa wants to be a part of a team that will value him more. The former Lazio striker wants more game time, and he would have to make a move in this window.
The Nerazzurri have signed another striker after Marcus Thuram, as both Dzeko and Lukaku left the club. Marko Arnautovic have joined on a loan deal with the obligation to buy from Bologna. The Austrian striker is reliable and will help both Lautaro and Thuram. He has already registered an assist in his first game coming from the bench. But if Correa leaves, Inter could promote Salcedo. However, he is also looking for a move to Spain in the Segunda division.
RB Leipzig eye Joaquin Correa and contact his agents
The Argentine striker came along with Inzaghi from Lazio, as the manager had trust in him. However, Correa’s injury issues played a huge part in his poor performances. He could not get into the rhythm and scored a few goals that did not justify his caliber and transfer value. The Argentine striker would hope to improve if he joins a new club. He has some more options on the table to evaluate, but Leipzig seems to be the best out of the lot.
The Nerazzurri will first focus on Correa’s departure to free up the wage bill and get funds to possibly get his replacement. They have been waiting patiently for Correa’s transfer and would be flexible on their evaluation. But if no club gets the deal done before the transfer window ends, Inter will be happy to keep him as their fourth striker.
