Three positions Inter should improve in winter transfer window

There are three positions that Inter should improve in the upcoming January transfer window. The Nerazzurri have had a poor first half in the Serie A and should make some new additions to catch up with other teams. They were brilliant in the Champions League, as they came out of the group of death, and will now face FC Porto in the Round of 16. But they need more players to have depth as there will be fixture congestion ahead.

Center Back– The Nerazzurri have been terrible in defense in Serie A, they have the 7th worst defense in Serie A this season. They are on the level with Monza and Sassuolo in the rankings as they conceded 22 goals in 15 Serie A games. Bastoni and Skriniar have been carrying the backline for Inter. Acerbi and De Vrij give little support, but other options available are not viable for Inzaghi’s setup. D’Ambrosio no longer has the pace to keep up with the high line. While Fontanarosa is young and is yet to prove himself.

Midfielder- Similar to the backline, Inter have a preferred trio in the midfield. Calhanoglu, Brozovic, and Barella play most of the games. While Mkhitaryan is a good backup option, Asllani has not impressed so far at Inter. Also, the former Empoli midfielder did not get enough chance to showcase his talent. He could be loaned out in the winter to gain some much-needed experience. While Inter should bring in a midfielder, who is ready to replace anyone from the trio when called upon.

Wingback– It seems likely that Dumfries could be on his way in this winter transfer window. The Dutch defender has been sought by many big European clubs. So Inter should consider buying a right wingback who can rotate with Darmian and the talented Bellanova.
