Dimarco set to extend his contract with Inter

Federico Dimarco set to extend his contract soon as he has been great for Inter so far. The Italian defender has shown that he can be a valuable asset to the team. He can play as a left wing-back and as a left center back. This gives Inzaghi a rotation option so Inter are looking to keep him till 2026. His current contract ends in 2023 and he is still young so Inter want to tie him down for 3 more years. Perisic is 32 now and he can not start every game and Dimarco has shown that he can be a good backup to him.

The academy graduate knows very well how Inter’s system work. Also, he is very good with set pieces and has created some goals with his corners. He also scored a wonderful free-kick against Sampdoria. Dimarco has a brilliant left foot and his crosses are mostly accurate. When playing in a back 3, he tries to overlap the left wing-back to create an overload. This gives an attacking option against teams who sit back with a low and compact block. He can give swerve to the ball which makes it difficult for the opposition defenders.

Dimarco set to extend his contract till 2026

Dimarco started his career in Inter Milan’s youth academy and made his debut when he was 17. However, he was unable to get much game time so he went for a couple of loan spells. He played for Ascoli and Empoli on loan and after that, he was sold to Sion. But Inter got him back with the buy-back clause and then he was sent for 2 more loan spells.

With Parma, he scored his first goal against Inter at the San Siro. He was very impressive with Hellas Verona in his last loan spell as he made 48 appearances and scored 5 goals. So Inter decided to keep him with their squad this year and he is proving his worth.
