Dumfries strikes a late winner to seal the victory for Inter in their first Serie A match. The Nerazzurri traveled to Lecce and played a close game on the opening day of Serie A. So, Inter planned to suffocate Lecce in their half and give them less chance to play on the counter.

Lecce managed to come back into the game after defending in the first half. Inter again got caught in transition and Lecce manufactured a perfect counter to equalize. Inter failed to get back in time, and Ceesay played a one-two with Francesco to finish despite a tight angle.
Bistrovic fired a rocket of a free kick which was dealt well by the Inter captain. Lecce’s keeper had a good game as well as he kept the efforts of Dimarco and Dumfries out. The latter sparked energy for Inter after coming from the bench. The Dutch defender was high and wide stretching the backline and making runs in the box.
Inter finally got their winner in the stoppage time following a corner. Lautaro managed to head the corner of Barella in the mix. Dzeko missed his shot, but Dumfries came running and scored the winner. Inter thoroughly celebrated their win, but they will have to prepare for tougher matches in the future.
