Eriksen can return to Spurs, only if Dele Alli leaves

Eriksen can return to Spurs this season if Dele Alli leaves the club in this transfer window. Christian Eriksen has been in the eyes of various clubs this season including Wolves and his boyhood club Ajax. But he is being noticed by his previous club, Tottenham for a possible transfer this season. Eriksen left Tottenham to join Inter in the 19/20 January window with high hopes. However, that did not work in his favour as he has made just 39 appearances so far and hasn’t been able to play a single 90-minute game this season. The Nerazzurri bought Eriksen at half the price but the attacking midfielder has spent most of the season on the bench.

The former Spurs star did not receive enough playtime under Antonio Conte. Eriksen does not fit well into Conte’s system and Conte fails in giving chances to him. Furthermore, Inter officially placed Eriksen on the transfers list in November, and ever since, big clubs have been in the queue to get his signature. In fact, Mourinho and Eriksen share a good relationship and the latter might consider the move.

While Eriksen has not made any request to move, Inter are keen on offloading the player. This is not only beneficial for the Nerazzurri but also the Danish midfielder who will want some game time. The Nerazzurri are low on cash and offloading players is their only way out.

If Dele Alli leaves Tottenham and moves to PSG, the Dane would leave Inter. Alli’s position at Spurs is almost similar to that of Eriksen. Alli has been out of favour for Mourinho this season which has raised questions about his move. A lot depends on the external factors and what other clubs are doing when it comes to Eriksen’s move.
