Kasper Hjulmand criticizes Conte, Eriksen remains unused

Kasper Hjulmand criticizes Conte as he worries about the playing time that Christian Eriksen has received at Inter. The Denmark coach says, “Christian Eriksen on the bench at Inter is a real waste of quality”. Eriksen joined Inter in January 2020 with high hopes. However, he did not get to play a single 90-minute game in the whole season. While the former Spurs star hasn’t been able to fit into Conte’s system, the Nerazzurri boss also failed to give him enough chances to play. Eriksen’s entry during the pandemic also went the other way for him.

The Danish midfielder is an exemplary player when in form. Furthermore, the Nerazzurri bought Christian Eriksen at half the price. Although he hasn’t been more than a super-sub for the club under Conte. Eriksen also plays for the Denmark national team and the attacking midfielder has been named Danish Football Player of the Year for five times. Eriksen has been out of the field for a while now and this might be the time to move on.

Conte’s reluctance to keep the players on the field unchanged is clear. The Inter boss is known for favouring a set of players. In fact, this has resulted in tireless playing time for star players like Lukaku, Lautaro and others. The match with Sampdoria made Inter’s struggles evident. Nonetheless, Conte recently stated that the Nerazzurri are not looking for any new signings in this transfer season. But that might not be the most effortless thing to do.

Eriksen is in the twilight of his career and would want to make the most of it. However, that is clearly impossible at Inter as he doesn’t receive much game time. Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand said that he’d like Eriksen to take the right decision for himself and the Danish national team. While Eriksen has been on the bench for too long, his form might be affected.
