The players will now get a much-needed break before pre-season.
Germany were looking to attack behind Italy’s defence and players like Werner went wide to exploit spaces. Muller was dropping and giving Italy’s defence all sorts of problems. In the 68th minute, Muller found Gnabry out wide. The Bayern winger placed the ball first time to Werner who made a sliding finish. Chelsea striker scored another as Donnaruma made a sloppy pass. Gnabry got the ball and played it to Werner again to make it 5-0.
Italy then managed to salvage some pride as Dimarco played a brilliant ball across the box. Inter’s former academy player, Gnonto managed to finish after Neuer made the save. Bastoni scored a late goal in the injury time. He got the assist from his Inter teammate as Dimarco delivered a perfect ball from the corner. Bastoni produced a thumping header by drifting behind Germany’s defence to make it 5-2.
